Not a moment too soon
Early Girl lived up to her name: Our first tomato from the garden was ready for picking this evening, and there are more right behind it.
Ripe red tomato: Check.
Fresh fragrant basil leaves: Check.
Note to self: Buy buffalo mozzarella.
Don't skimp on the olive oil! Bon appetit.

beautiful. brigs back memories of when my family grew tomatos. do you get those annoying green wormy bugs?

Neil, we have been very lucky so far this year: no tomato hornworms. I was braced for them! Monstrous looking, they are.
We do have some beetles (look like potato beetles) that seem to enjoy the cucumber vines; I've been picking them off and (ew) "popping" them one by one. Not many, fortunately. So far the garden is 100% organic!
